Oil gauge shows no pressure & overheating issues!
Afternoon,
Having trouble with the RS S2. Cant drive the car on the road yet due to various reasons - basically within the next month or so i need it to be running as sweet as a nut!
Here is my dilemma - i leave my car to stand for about half an hour - go inside the car check the oil pressure, the gauge reads nothing, needle on the low - should the guage show something as i have been told that unless the car is moving the guage wont move (i think this is wrong however) - any help on this?? How do i test the guage - apart from buying a new one!
Overheating issues - cant remember what you guys said about getting a cossy fan sender and 82deg thermostat - any help on where to getthis from??
Last thing did they make a haynes manual for the RS turbo S2?
Any help greatly appreciated
Dumpy

Cheers Neil.
Its a nimrod gauge - being inexperienced on this - not sure where its connected to, i think the sump plug.
Where else could it be connected to??
Cheers,
Dumpy
P.S any one tell me if it is a cossy fan sender and 82deg fan sender i need, and where can i get them from?

If the engine gets very hot it will give low oil pressure, as long as the oil level rises nicely when you rev it ,it should not be a problem.
try changing the oil and filtet with a good quality ol and see if that helps

When you say you leave the car for a half hour, i take it you mean the car is still running?? The pressure on my gauge does go low when hot and at idle, but not to 0 psi.

Yep car is left running for half an hour easily - rev it for a minute or so , no move on the guage!
First thing to do - I'll give it a good old service - would you say 15w40 is a good grade?
I'll get castrol magnetex in there if available!
Cheers for the CD link, will be purchasing!
Anty chance one of you could tell me where to get the sender and thermostat? (if it is the cosy fan sender and 82deg thermostat i need)
