basically, i am goig to give the rods to a local motorsport delaer,

he is then going to send them of and get them re produced as steel items,

i dont know as of yet what material/grade etc

but they will be sufficient, when i have mnoore information, i will put it up,

but.... i need money upfront to pay for these, i aint going to do a runner,
dont worry....

the admin team have my location details and contact numbers so i can always be hunted down, if any one has any more queries i will beable to talk in person at towneley tomorrow.

cheers

Ideally u wanna get your hands on a farndon h section rod or similar and get him to reproduce that.........cos to be fair a standard rod is quite different, not h section for a start! Not nitpicking just a suggestion so u can get the best product for the money!

Lads,

They are not a direct copy of the standard rod. They are just using the standard rod as a template to make it the correct length and diameter for the gudgeon pins and crank/big end pins.

If required, forged pistons can also be supplied in Wossner, Accralite or by a different manufacturer (can't remember the name quoted). These pistons and rods can be supplied for roughly for the cost of a set of H section Farndon rods alone.

Lads,

I will have some info coming over about the rods and possible pistons that can be supplied soon so I will post the spec of the rods up for all to see.

Any body actually interested in these up to now?

They'll only be ready if we can get the orders together!!! Can't do a thing until we have deffinate orders for all the sets.

Here is a few details about the material the rods will be made of and what they will look like.

These lightweight, H-beam section connecting rods are forged from AISI 4340 (En24) steel. Heat treated to HRC 35-38 and fully shot-peened for higher fatigue strength. Small end bushed for fully floating pin and big end fitted with high quality ARP PRO-Wave 2000 fasteners. Suitable for high-performance street and competition uses.

So who is actually interested?

Please copy the list and add your name to it if you are seriously interested. These are very very cheap for what they are. Wether an oportunity like this comes again may be questionable...

I'm having my mate sort them out. He owns and runs his own motorsport and rally car prep business. His business is called CAMS although he won't be making them in house.

I'll speak to him on the weekend and try and find out where he saw them, think it was a company on ebay that were advertising rods for various engines, and he enquired to see about cvh ones which apparently they did or can do! Like i say, don't know any details etc, may not be same sort of quality as farndon ones etc. Sayin that, there's no reason why u can get steel rods for other cars so much cheaper, prolly just not as high a demand for cvh ones which drives the price up?!

Bad news mate. I got the price down to around £280 each set but due to complete lack of interest, I can't be arsed to sort it out now. Only needed another 8 people and despite posting on several sites, you were the only interested party involved. My mate Chris offered to stick a couple of sets on the shelf if we couldn't quite get to 10 people but 2 is nowhere near enough.
