Default Amal and bleed at same time ?

Is it possible to run amal- and bleed-valve at the same time ?
I would like to keep the safety of the amal, and the possibility to adjust the boost easyly.
The bleed valve is an turbosmart in-car.

Of course you can. However the ECU won't be able to reduce boost as much as without a bleed valve.

For example if your car is running standard boost (0,5 bar / 7 - 8 PSI) the reduced boost setting (triggered through the amal valve) would be 0,25 Bar. (4 PSI)

If you raise the boost up to 1 Bar (14,5 PSI) the reduced boost will rise aswell to about 0,5 Bar (8 PSI).

I believe you can change the jets in the amal valve to control how much it wastes, this may be more suitable for your application.

So it would be safer to just adjust boost on actuatorrod ?
Where would the bleedvalve have to be inserted, in parallel with the amal like this or how ?

From the amal one line goes to the actuator, one goes to the compressorhousing and one goes to the fuel distributerblock.
Where would you insert the bleed valve, if you wanted to keep the amal valve.

By the way, what do you mean is wrong with the diagram ?
I asked where to insert the bleed valve, and suggested a position, it might be wrong, but that is why i asked ! if i knew i wouldnt need to !
But still thanks for the replyes

If it were me, I would put the bleed valve on the pipe between the amal valve and the actuator.

Sounds like a good idea, however might need some good old try and error work to get it right.

What do you want firstly, just a bleed valve or in car boost adjustment?

PeterRST, pretty sure tuners have done this for years and keep various jets in stock

So you can basically buy a "15 PSI jet" (in case all the other settings are standard)? I'd be interested in one of these! Can you give me a certain adress?

savechav : I want bleed valve with in-car adjustment, and keep amal-valve.

This is how i would do it.

Obviously in the actuator pipe has a 3 port bleed valve, set the maximum boost you want to run with that, then the incar valve simply adjusts between your minimum & preset maximum boost

if you decrease the jet to a smaller jet on the 'C' port you can increase peak boost this way,to increase boost held decrease the jet to the wastegate 'W'.
mine is set up this way, peak at 21 psi and hold 16 at the moment but just found out i dont have a jet in the 'W' port,so stuffed a jet in it to see and it now holds 19-20 psi, hopefully get it into ava at the weekend and get it set up proper with the increased held boost

The amal really is more trouble than it's worth. People seem to be obsessed with the "safety" it gives - but the ECU is really far too slow to be of any use - not to mention that most chips no longer run the safety strategies!

If it's setup properly, you won't ever have any problem.
