Default Not going into gear!

Hey all, not had my S2 long, and the lad before me had a new gearbox put in. But im having problems getting it into 1st and 2nd sometimes. The other gears are fine, but for some reason it just wont go into 1st or 2nd. This is starting to piss me off a bit now lol . Any ideas people? Cheers!

Sounds like the gear linkage needs a small adjustment

does 5th seem to be more centralised than it should? could just undo the 13mm on the linkage where it meets the box and turn it a little and keep doin that til its right

could have been left a little loose and be creeping round over time

Could be a simple linkage adjustment, could be worn selectors in the box, or it could be the clutch not dis-engaging properly.

If it is linkage.

Ford will do it for under £30. They have a tool to get it straight. Mine needs doing too
