How much zetec standard con rods can take power?

IMO i think its more det that will cause a rod and piston to go....300hp is generally the safe mark these days much beyond this and the pressure on the rods with the explosion will be enough to bend them...
reason i say det can kill the rods is coz of the violent explosion causing nasty vibrations
anything over 300hp i would say steel rods IMO...especially as they are so cheap!

The bolts have not much to do with power or boost, mostly just max RPM. And turbo ZVH is not known for being a very rev happy engine. On the other hand, for myself, if I didn't use at least new bolts, I would worry and regret each day that I had saved the price of 8 bolts.
As to the con rods, it's RPM, CR and det that also play important role in the con rod killing game. If they are reasonable, then 1.5bar doesn't sound much at all.

Jeah! of course i use the new bolts, but the arp bolts cost over 100 and the original ones i have on my garage. i put the wiseco pistons and on the cr is 7,5:1 so i thing it is good. The Eagle con rods costs me over 500 and that makes me thing if the standard one will hold up.
sorry about the bad english!

Why do the eagle rods cost you over 500e when they cost everybody else max 300e? Nevertheless, if you run a CR as low as 7.5, I don't think you have a problem.

Anyway, the base engine on my car has done some 20 000 miles with different levels of power. First running 250 bhp and gradually improving to the current 300+ tune. It has also done numerous top speed events and track days also in current spec. Does it proof anything? It's hard to know since every engine is a unique item and everyone drives and tunes them diffrently.
