After doin headgasket, got myne running and if you put your foot to the floor it badly miss-fired. \but was ok if you let the boost slowly build up.

I tried coil, cap, and leads - had new plugs in from when i did h/gasket. Fault was the plugs though, standard plugs wern't good enough and it was blowing out the spark. Also the gap wasn't right, so got some NGK's and set the gap properly and now all ok!

if its running more boost standard plugs with standard gap may have trouble with extra boost blowing spark out. thats why it only happens on boost.

does it still do it if you try and gently press the throttle throught the rev range like as it comes on boost if flooring it it was like hitting a brick wall with missing and shit?

anyway i had the same sort of problem and it turned out to be a knackered chip as mine was chipped but it turned out to be fucked chip and a new one stopped all the fugging about

What PSI boost does it hit when your on full boost mate? If it does it around 14psi then you may have a boost limit.

Have you had the timing checked?

have you checked the cam timing ,as on the bottom pulley there is a groove you dont use that ,could be map sensor or fuel pressure related, does your car run hot?

It sounds to me as though the spark is getting blown out! I would get some Champion QC59YC fast road plugs as these are designed to cope with slightly uprated boost and the standard NGK BCR8ES arn't. It is also very important that the plugs are gapped correctly aswell!

Also another thing check your HT Leads they may be well worn if they are still the original ones! The ones to go for if you were thinking of changing them would be the Magnecor R-100 10mm leads as these really are the dogs dangalies and come with a life time guarantee!
