where can i get a split pin for the actuator rod as the one i had rusted and bloddy snapped on removal

 

If you can't get one and your Wastegate pin has a hole through it, just put a thin Paper-Clip or piece of wire through there. As long as it stops the arm coming off, it will be fine.

 

You can fit an E-clip on there, or go into your local model shop and buy a pack of R/C car body pins

 

but of bent welding rod/paper clip works a treat

 

or the girlfriends/wifes hairclip works a treat

 

Never actually had anything there on any of my cars. If teh actuator rod comes off, either the preload is wrong or the actuator is pointing to the wrong direction.

 

If you look at a standard turbo though you will see the actuator rod doesnt go completely straight when its connected up.

ive had em fall off on a std car - happens on boost when there is no tension.

 

Mine had the original circlip that turned into a pile of brown powder.

Originally replaced it with a furniture staple, which worked well, then replaced it with a shiny R-pin just so it looked a bit less bodged
