-31 not std on escort s2 but most commonly fitted aftermarket for more boost... -34 has a stronger spring/diaphragm so takes more pressure to operate, used for even more boost...

think its just the preload thats different, you cant run less than 14psi on a -34 and 7 psi on a -31.
so i think if your running big boost then go for a -34, it has no benifits to the power you run though
