Default massive overboost promlem :(

first of all, sorry for posting in the wrong section stu, pet ect but kinda need a quick answer as per usual

mates car (cossie kit car) is ment to be running the normal 1.6 bar boost.
problem is were getting massive spikes of over 2 bar before it holds at 1.4 ish

he did have a -34 actuator on it but now has a -31 and its made no difference!

anyone got any ideas?

its running a t34.48 if that makes a difference.

PLEASE HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP

no amal valve, he has a bleed valve fitted so he can fine tune the boost level but dont think its got anything to do with that as we tried 3 in total and it still does it

pretty sure there are no air leaks but it could be that i supose thing is, would an air leak in one of the hoses cause that amount of overboost? its shutting down everything as soon as you plant it

how long is the pipework before the actuator?

if its REALLY long then this will cause it, as it takes a while for the hose to pressurise so the actuator lags behind...

this can be nasty on unlaggy turbos like wwin T2s as the fookers will spike at about 3times what they should hold

ok cheers guys, will check the boost hoses

stu, you could be right acually as he snaped the wastegate arm a little while back and had to weld it back together i guess he may have done somthing to make it stick then

anyway thanks
