Default 2 modded S2's(can you work it out)

Mine and JamboRST's cars are 1.6's with a similar spec.

I have a T28 with tubular manifold and Jamie has a T3 on standard manilfold.

I did this chart to show the differences

Why is there so much of a difference in power :top

Well, from that information, yours is a fair bit laggier. 1000rpm by the looks of it! Also, the power difference depends so much on alot of other things. What T28 is it for example? There are many variations.

Also, the tubular manifold may be negative at your level. There is a possibility that it isn't needed.

I have about 1-bar by 4000rpm on my current turbo (GT30), so I would say that there is something not right with yours.

Christian i dont have the spec of the turbo(think it may be an Escos spec) coz AVA fitted it, dropped the car off and picked it up a week or 2 later.

A few people have said before the manifold has made the power come in later

It is very likely that a less restrictive manifold could make the turbo come on boost later.

It is easy to get carried away with thinking that a T28 is better than a T3, but I think the difference is marginal. It's not until you get into the uprated T28's that the differences are more apparent.

Dave...you car is very close power wise over 4k with a good bit less boost.

I think you should fit a bigger turbo Daveand you would see the benifts of the manifold.

What turbo though

Wouldnt a T3 be similar to Jamies and a T34 a bit laggy for a 1.6

GT28's start at around Ł700 depending on exact spec.

Advantage is obvious. More power!!

Will it bolt on without any mods

More power for me means EFI as the MFI is struggling at the moment

it's pretty horrendous your t28 curve

Not a lot of power, and big lag. To be honest, first thing i would do is run more boost.

andys was runnin a much wilder cam than davies and he was on a modded t3 with lots more boost, think andy seen 228,not sure if that was on std head or big valve head or not, andys engine spec at that point was exact same as mine, except he had all the fancy manifolds waitin to go on

On MFI with fifth injector I ran 24psi no dyno data, but when the fifth injector stopped working there was a hugh power drop off.

Did Santa Pod though 14.1 sec with a terminal of 109.

davie i recall a convo with alan about why your not runnin more boost i seem to remember it was something to do with you blowing the head gasket twice and havin to get the head skimmed or block skimmed, cany remember fully, your in the same boat as me,i could keep squeezing as much bhp out the k jet or go for after market(not ofab as its worse than ive got) but ive not got 2.5k to spunk on it,also what head u using, stg 3?big valve?what pistons you got

think alan would be the man to explain this to you but it would involve modifying the metering head, also depends how good andys metering head was, mines was good for 195@wheels before needing modded where ive seen them as low as 120 before needin modded

You can go EFI for just under a grand fully fitted.

Best mod I ever made to my car.

ok i run ofab managment.. who said that u cant go above 220bhp?? as i spoke to stu @ msd yesterday and he will do me a weeks live mapping on my car and spec, but he said that my beige injectors will max out at about 220bhp (ish) but he can live map it to different injectors, so im thinking of getting a bigger set of squirters and go for 250bhp..but obviously may need bigger map sensor for more boost.

efi as in ofab or aftermarket management, ofab you could do for under 1k but as far as i know only msd(of the reputable tuners) can map it and that would mean no set ups at ava no more unless you go for ava's own which is 2.5k supply and fit last time i asked( i keep askin hoping it will come down a little ) then takin into consideration the buying of a new turbo and then the gearbox your gonna need too want my advice keep the money sell the rst and buy a cossie,at least the cossies gonna take the power where as the rst just can cope with that power never mind anymore, you could get another 30-40bhp but much of that power can you put down,or you could just bolt on a t3 and enjoy the new found torque in the mid range(though T3 RST just disny sound right),i for one will not be spanking anymore money on my rst and its only a matter of time before i break it and buy a cossie

speak to alan and discuss your options,he would do you a modded t3 like he done with andys, max boost by 2800rpm right to 7200rpm where he made peak power, now that is a powerband
