hi guys i have noticed that my water temp always goes high after a quick run around, it sets just a centimeter under the red, was wondering could this have anything to do with having a full front mount intercooler wich is infront of the radiator?

is the water in the tank really hot tho..?? if not, most likely a busted temp sender.... if its then its most likely an airlock... got bubbles in header tank..??

It is likely to be because of the Front-mount Intercooler. However, this can be improved by fitting a new rad and a lower temp Thermostat.

does a full front i/c make that much of a difference to temps then..?? tbh, i only ever used half-width and theyve made hardly any difference at all!!!

Default front mount intercooler

the chap running this cooler bought it from me and when fitted to my car there was no overheating issues whatsoever. your best bet matey is, check water temp sender, change header tank cap, make sure there are no exhaust gases reaching your water which would indicate headgasket failure and change thermostat.

Has this issue just started as you have been running the cooler for a while now??? or was it like this since the day it came off the dyno???

By the way chaps this intercooler has the fans directly mounted to the rad and has two twin spal fans that are by far upto the job. Also the temperatures outside are not that high at the moment so he shouldnt be having issues.

Kind regards,
GAMBIT

Default INTERCOOLER

ALSO MAKE SURE THE FANS ARE BLOWING AND NOT SUCKING
BECAUSE THAT COULD CAUSE ISSUES TOO.
