Default Exhaust Manifold / Turbo

Just wondering what turbo's can actually be fitted to the ERST exhaust manifold?

I see things like ".60 A/R Compressor" and ".63 Compressor"

Also I see statements like "Internal Wastegate set at 12 Psi ", are they referring to the actuator? If I wanted to run more boost I would simply replace the actuator ?

Thanks for any help.

Stuart,

1. Not everyone has got a spec suitable for a turbo/manfold like that.

2. NO lag? You sure?

ok minimal lag if u want to be perdantic about it

1st turbo was at full boost 2k earlier than a T34 so why is that not suitable for any engine spec if u want resonable power

I suppose I could re-phrase what I said, and put it into a question...

Will any old turbo fit the ERST exhaust manifold, or is it dependant on the A/R Compressor etc... ?

For example, could I fit a GT28 with a .60 A/R compressor to the ERST manifold?

Thanks.

No, the GT28's generally have a T28 style flange which is a different bolt pattern to the T3 flange.

The GT28 0.60A/R Compressor covers are slightly too big also. I had to carry out modifications to get it to fit.

So what options for turbo choice do you have if you want to retain the standard exhaust manifold?

It's back to the question of what you want and what spec you have?.......

Stuart, without wanting to sound picky, neither of those graphs show anything that is unexpected. Both are laggy turbo's and both show that on the graph.

My GT28 (which is known in the Jap world as the 'Disco Potato', due to it's fast response) wasn't on boost that early.

My GT30 doesn't make full boost until after 4000rpm, even later with the bigger turbine housing.

The same turbo on a 200SX 2.0 16v engine isn't much different, so why should a turbo like that have 2-bar at 2800rpm on a tiny 1600cc engine??
