Instant fail i expect mate.

A lot of places will be aware of the bulb being removed, the bulb obviously should illuminate with the handbrake light i believe to show its operational

You could try bridging the wiring so the light isnt constantly illuminated.

In a word......no.

I personally would either bin the ABS modulators completely, or make it so that the light operates as it should by bridging the wiring and claim ignorance if anything is asked.

In Norway.. u have to get every car mod(changing breaks, car shell ect ect) and all tuning... on cars made after 1996 u have to pay taxes pr bhp

but all mods (rebuilding, not tuning, yap some styling to) u have to get approve at the government car/road section. and they don´t like cars there and they have to wright it down in the pink slip.. or "vogn kort" on good norwegian

but the abl... its no down side thats its gone

but do as SafeChav says.

Belts are about £5-10 have a look on ebay but as safechav says they wont pass it if they see you have removed just the belts or taken the bulb out because if you get pulled and the old bill get it checked (it's very unlikely but it happens) then the M.O.T guy will get fucked for it.

Put the belts back on .Get it M.O.T,D.

Then take the belts back off.

Or cable tie both belts sensors so they are both closed to simulate them being closed by the belts.Sensors only open when belt snaps putting your dash light on.

Zip tie the belt break sensors closed then they will think the belts are present and correct and the system will behave as though all was fine meaning the light will operate as normal.

Just oiking the belts off the modulators really isn't the way to convert a car from ABS to non ABS though

i agree with Oranoco that just removing the belts does nothing to the brakes except stopping the abs from working! the only way is to remove the modulator's completly and plumb the brake lines in properly!
when the MOT examiner type's in what car it is, the vosa computer will tell the tester that the car has abs and how he should check it. even if you tell him that it has been removed he could still fail it because it really should be there!!!
just remove the sensor's and tape them up, fooling the car into thinking it's working correctly

I agree that if you are removing the ABS then the modulators should really be removed, but in terms of functionality it can't make much difference, after all a mechanical system such as this would of taken into consideration the belts breaking during a journey.....you'd still need brakes if a belt snaps!

There actually is, the garage i use is a stones throw away from my house, when i put my Orion in or MOT in october really he should have failed it on the wiper blades and one of the front pads was on the limit, but being as they know me and they know i can't stand bodged up cars they let it through and ive replaced the pads etc now anyway

I try where possible to keep cars in a good state of repair, and thats evident by the fact they actually told me all the cars of mine ive taken in never have much wrong with them, and the fact they are willing to let small things slip because they know i'll sort it out anyway - if you try and play them for dumb fuckers then they will be harsh
