Default how much boost?

i have just fitted a secound hand turbo. i found it was running way to much boost. so i have unsrewed the actuater rod a few turns and have brought the boost down to 7lb at full boost.
can any one advise me on what sort of boost i should be running, the engine has a piper 285t2 cam, ported head, k&n, stainless exhaust.

i also have a chipped ecu to fit when i have run engine in. what sort of boost should i be running for that and will i need a different actuator?

thanks for any help you can give?

it depends what intercooler you are running.

personally i wouldn't run more than 14psi on standard intercooler.

if you get an uprated cooler anything up to 20psi is what peolple run but its not advisable. your turbo won't last long.

get a stage(whatever your needs are) turbo from a respected turbo tuner.

I wouldnt guess...i'd take it to a specialist and let them work out what's best for the engine while they set up the air/fuel mixture and ignitiom timing!!
