Default fuel line banjo connections. WONT START, HELP!!!!

I fitted new fuel lines to the RST today for cosmetic reasons really and now the bloody thing wont start

The lines arent blocked but I'm not getting any fuel further than the metering unit. But when I crack the bolts off the fuel pisses out. Put the old ones back on and they do the same

Am I supposed to re-pressurise the system after changing them, or is there some trick to get it thru????

HELP

crank the engine over with out the plugs in, sounds like you got air locks, like i did when i took my fuel lines off.

basicly crank it over until you smell fuel in the bores. you may need to push the metering unit flap down a little bit while cranking it over.

you will find it wont take long, then bolt plugs back in, and it should fire straight away, unless its floaded to much, just just leave it a few mins before trying to start it.

you wont get any fuel at the injectors by cranking without gently pushing down on the flap in the metering head!
best way is take the air filter off and get someone to turn her over on the key while you push the flap down gently, dont push it too far or you'll flood it. gently

Gently, LOL!

All I had to do was open the flap on the metering head about 5mm and it fired up straight away! I'm begining to realise that there isn't a single straight-forward system on these old RST's. I mean, why have a flap on the metering head, and why would the flap on the metering head being closed stop fuel getting in to the system?? The sooner I convert it to EFi the better methinks!

Cheers Guy's as usual!

cos that what a fuel metering flap does

if the engines off the flap will shut otherwise it'll seap fuel thru the injectors til all the pressure is gone in the lines then it'll be a sod to start with empty lines too
