Front grill and now Rear End update
Sorted out my front grill. Top pic was taken shortly after buying the car and how it stayed until I decided to make it look more original with the matt black edging the other day.
The fixing clips were broken: hence the screws holding it in place on the panel. The cracks are stuck with strong tape so that you cannot see them and fixed to the panel with shiny stainless screws and washers for a better finish.

Mines is the same as in your first pic, good idea actually...I got some matt paint and primer...did you give it a key before primer/spraying?? hmm, might give it a bash as black goes with the new headlights etc

Been meaning to get round to it for months, but it was one of those jobs that I never really got round to sorting until I made the concerted effort to buy some paint. Bonnet catch screws up next
Didn't key the paint neither: it's already been painted so went over the top. If it comes off, I'll re-do it, but looks to be surviving so far

SafeChav They are polished screws with polished washers (done around a year ago and never been re-polished ) as there never were any standard screws fitted on the grills as they have clips on an unbroken item which clips into the slam-panel. Mine was broken and fixed using two screws that weren't to my standard.
If you look closely at the last pic you can see the washer and screw combo.

The philips screws look nasty and they will always go rusty again. M6 x 10 button heads, will probably cost you all of 50p for 3 of them, look much better imo

Jeezo calm down they from America...$1.45 iirc.
Still unsure wether to tackle my grill, prob make a coont of it, think i'll do the bonnet catch tho, looks better than the shitty oxidised metal

Ooh..they're nice Might have to invest in some of them.

Shawn, once you start changing screws it gets addictive though, every bolt ive ever taken off my car gets replaced for a stainless one when refitting

vroooom ptssssh Brushed on using that small artists brush in the pic. Matt black model paint. The big hammerite tin was what I used on my sump.

I dont think ive got much in the way of pictures shawn, most of the pictures from the original transplant have been lost from inferior DVD's 
Literally though, every bolt i took of went back stainless, the majority being stainless cap heads.

I went to get three bolts today: similar to that pic vrooom posted. They are only small headed bolts though..quite a bit smaller diameter from standard (10mm diameter roughly). Not sure if I want to fit them with big washers underneath: even thought the grill is fitted like this, I'd like the slam panel to not have 3 big washers on as they are fairly close together and might look wanky.

Takes your eye off it being bolted down then. Happy to have a couple more shiny little bits at the minute. I know what you're saying about the stealth bit but I see that as trying to hide the fact it's been screwed to the panel. Why not make them shiny and make a little feature out of it.

rs shawn, you can get different sized washers, ar ot should be ok without washers as long as the paintwork is intact underneatj.
Ive seen cars at shows with washers, looks fine IMO

I don't mind them being without washers..but the head is small and looks wrong.
Might get them and try some washers underneath to see how it looks.

Rear End update:
Bought some good light seals and over-riders for the rear @ ND. Decided to have a look at the seals on mine whilst I had a small opportunity before it went back into the garage.
(click pics for bigger ones)
Rear light off: any brown bits is old waxoil.
Newest light & seal fitted.
Rear end before over-riders.
Rear end after over-riders.
