engine prob' ... again
hi,
This W-e my escort s2 broke down, I was driving for some test (3months of rebuild...)
the car accelerated then slowed down, impossible to drive at constant speed and the car starts to have HUGE back firing and don't drive... like fuel cuts
after a few seconds the engine died...
I tried to start the engine but don't hold the idle speed and there are massive misfiring in the inlet/ic pîping, the inlet was really hot ...
Today the car starts, but still misfiring in the inlet/ic piping
I do not include/understand any more, as soon as I finished repairing something, another thing breaks…
What's the hell ? for me it's a fuelling prob,isn't it ?

I don't have a 5th injector, injector seals seems ok, they are not broken or something
The problem appeared suddenly, just after set up the actuator and removed the dump valve
engine bad acceleration, like micro cut, Full throttle -> huge back fire under the floor few yards after the engine died and the car stat but won't idle like a Co prob'
I will check the timing belt
I try to set co myself, then car wont start, when start car dying on road, wont go, missfires.....
I go to men with lambda and sort problem.
try see if timing belt is ok, best method is pull out spark, see if piston is in TDC then see position of other things.

Not fuelling this is igntion causing it, as said first check cam timing then ignition timing.
If the belt has jumped the valves are open when they should be shut, heat has to go somewhere as you have found.

take the plugs out and see if one of them has melted, rare to happen i no, but still possible,
a similar thing happened to mine when the lower boost hose tore, have you checked this as it would expliane the huge pop.
other than that, get the dizzy checked out,

it's fueling and got spark
