If your changing the lifters then you should change the cam aswell or you may fuck the new lifters as the cam and lifters wear together so you should change both at the same time. But to anser your question yeah you just pull the old lifters out and slot the new ones in

You can pick a standard AE cam and tappet set for around £110 which I have run in mine for around 8,000 miles so far. The timing belt is sold seperatley.

on a CVH you should only ever change the cam with the lifters, nothing else!
Feel free to change just the lifters if you wish but i absolutely guarantee you within about 10 miles it sounds just as shit before, additional to the fact you will be about £40 lighter in your wallet

Is there any oil in it?
If you're having trouble finding out I've got some Group A
dipsticks for sale, they're a couple of inches longer than the standard
ones so you don't have to worry about keeping so much in the sump.
Which of course cuts down on drag/friction whilst keeping unsprung
weight down.
If interested
