I dont know much about turbos but im lookin to buy a stage 3 turbo for my S2, the bloke says its for a S1/S2 and the spec is.....

Wet floating bearing
Compressor A/R .42
Compressor @ stage 3
Turbine A/R .48

Is this a stage 3 turbo from the spec what do i need to look at to tell the difference from a standard t3 ??

Any help would really be appreciated

 

WET FLOATING BEARING!!, unless this is a BALL RACE turbo they all are, all have two bearing which float the shaft.
Cannot confirm what size is standard for comp and turbine as I don't know for these.
All thye do is use other parts from other turbos to mix and match to your requirements.
Just using a phrase like wet floating bearings would put me of, I would phone around a few people that do a lot of these cars to see which size comp + turbine size would be best.
Just out of interest how much ?
To tell the difference, you first need to know standard size comp and turbine wheel and then look to see what new ones are, then hope it is not shagged, people can be very "loose" with their opinion of whatv is good and bad especially when selling.

Its brand new, sorry i dont know much about turbos only that i need a 360 thrust bearing and theres 3 stages

 

make sure its a garrett turbo and not one of them unbranded cheap shite

360 bearing good to go for as if running extra boost the std 270m is not up to it, what sort of price is it, you really want a STEP GAP SEAL or failing that the RING drilling to create some back pressure to stop oil usage as much as possible.
Defo go for STEP GAP ring if not already.
