Maybe it's due to the size of disc. Smaller disc'd cars have smaller lighter wheels so use bolts as it's not too bad holding the wheel in place (yeh right!), whilst larger disc cars normally have larger wheels and a nut is simply for ease of fitment of supporting the weight of the wheel.
Yes.......that has to be it

Yes they are RS Turbo/MK4 ones. You only need to use sierra ones if going for the 2wd 4pot setup.

Fitted all my front Cossie set up today, took about an hour and half. Guess I'll see if there's much difference once they've bedded, although the peddle feels firmer and the initial bite seems better already.

Top banana!

Dont shoot me down guys but a couple of strange one's here...

Any ideas why my S1 has stud's and nuts on the Hud? (using 2wd brakes at the Moment).

And what size diameter is the inside hole of the 1mm washer? is it 18mm or something??

Cheers.

My front conversion is for sale as I've since sold the car (removed it before it went).

The new disc's and pads haven't even been bedded in properly yet as I hardly used the car as the weather had been rubbish.

PM me if you're interested.

Can you use 4x4 disc's or do they have to be the 2wd ones ??

Are you just using 2wd ones because they are bigger than 4x4 ones?

Cheers

Has to be 2wd discs when using the 4x4 calipers, you would use 4x4 discs with 2wd calipers, if that makes sence??

I believe they're the same yes, same with Scorpio Cosworth ones as well.

Or, you could just buy the whole set I have!

I've fitted 4pot 2wd calliper and 286 disks @ the front and sierra xr4 256 mm disks and callipers @ the rear.
rear works verry well but the front doesn't seem to brake verry wel so they say when it was for MOT this morning.
Anyone else got this problem?
Could the master brake cilinder be to smal, and what can i fit instead.. cosworth or something else?

thanks..

I'm not answering your question as I don't know off the top of my head. Think a norm Sierra wil lfit tho but don't quote me on that.

As a reminder, this is what merc xr asked:
