Default Please help. to much fuel

i have been trying to get my series one started. but i have a problem with to much fuel coming out of injectors.when i try to start the car it just floods. ive taken the injecters out of the manifold and when cranking loads of fuel sprayes out of injecters. there is so much spraying in that it left a small puddle behind exhaust. i have taken the metering head of and the plunger is free and moves freely in and out of head, and when its back on and has fuel preasure it has correct resistance over the entire travel of air flap.
i have tried a second hand metering head but still floods. (not sure if it was ok as got of ebay)
thanks for any help you can give me

If the diaphram on the flap is out of alignment the flap won't close up properly, could be wedged open and causing the excessive fuellling.........

thanks for reply.
if your talking about air flap, that is fine it fully closes when not running and has its 2-3mm free play.
do you know if the electric fuel presure regulater on the side of the metering head if faulty can cause this high fuel preasure?

It could do, shouldnt affect it at idle though.........

Only used for on boost enrichment and over-run shut off.
