4" standard, you could make 5" fit relatively easy, but won't be a drop in replacement so to speak.

Indeed that is an easier way to do it, i talking about mounting them into the original holders, but looking on the sound quality side of things, that will be awful

Chris_505 as ive said above they are nice and easy to fit that way but it won't sound very good being mounted on a flimsy piece of plastic thats clipped into the car

mine are 6.5 alot bigger than standard thats why there mounted on the outside, as for the sound quality im happy with them ive only run them off the head unit at the mo, hoping to amp them at a later date

your 5.25 's should fit there with no probs

I know what your saying. But those pods are merely clipped in, and not securely. You will be losing a lot of sound quality through resonation

my old ones, 5 1/4 with 1 inch tweeters also had 6" in the doors, all moulded to point at the drivers head so staging could be set perfect

not a very good photo im afraid

If your going bigger than the standard size in the front your better off getting some of the audioscape door pods they sound 100 times better than having the speakers in the footwells. I used to have mine in the footwells i thought it sounded ok untill i got a set of the audioscape door pods and what a difference it made me relies how pants it sounded when i had them in the footwells.

I managed to get 6.5" JBL's in the front of my S2. They are the only speakers in the car now since the rest of the ICE install was made redundant when the cage went in.

It's not amasing but is definately an improvement over the poxy tidlly things that were in there.
