A very interesting read to say the least LOL

Christian, don't get wound up over it. Me personally i have heard nothing but good things about your work and i have every faith. I'll probably be seeing you for that RR day if it ever goes ahead.

The people on the SXOC also have lots of good things to say, my mate just recently had his Silvia mapped, i know he REALLY wanted it done by you but he just couldnt be without the car for 2 days, mainly because we are so far away.

Theres enough people that support you, disregard the few that don't. You can't win them all

Oh no, bow down to the wonder that is matt p who helped his uncle by screwing a few screws in under close supervision. Just because you alledgedly helped with the building of an Ultima, why does that give you ANY knowledge of tuning the pinnacle of 1600CVH Turbo engines?

We have all had failures, Me, Tim, Stuart, Oli etc etc, that doesn't reflect on the compentancy of the mapper as there are so many other links in the chain. The fact is that for the 7 1/2 years that I have owned this car, 5 of which it has been competitive, the Daddy Thrash this year was the first time it has been home on a recovery truck, all other times I have driven it to and from the event.

I don't really give a crap where you got your so-called knowledge, I do know that there really is only a mere handful of people with whom I have discussed the 2.4 bar thing, so it won't be too hard to find out.

Well done though, you made a class job of making yourself look a cunt.

I look forward to your reply.

I rebuilt my yz250 engine when I had it. Surely by your logic that must put my knowledge of engines somewhere up there with the likes of reyland, norris, msd, mad etc?

Good, i am glad you have at least straightened that out as Jamie and the lads dont need the grief that rumours like that can create.

Nice as they are, i fail to see the relevant link between rotating spanners and screwdrivers with your fingers and diagnosiong air fuel ratio errors and identifying in cylinder detonation, not to mention pinpointing them to a mapper...

I'm sick of reading half-baked facts about numbers, prices, and management systems. I'm sick of the bias towards management x over management y. Who cares, really? Did a certain managment system call your mum fat, or insult your girlfriend? Probably not. I don't understand the defensiveness that most fanboys on here display (management system or otherwise).

The greater the available choices the better for the consumer.. simple as really

No. I know I speak for the entire professional tuning world when I say that our worst fear is working on a car that a DIY'er has started then lost his bottle. It's normal assumption that the last person to touch a car will be the one that get's blamed, so please understand our reservations.

It's just unfortunate that I speak to lots of RS Turbo owners (and it's not exclusive to RS Turbo owners) that expect you to clean up the mess that they can't clean up themselves due to getting in too deep.

What half-baked facts and numbers?? To my knowledge this is the first time that any tuner has backed up a management solution with hard-facts, figures and dyno plots from one of, if not the most accurate rolling roads available.

This thread was intended as a rare insight into what goes into a management system that we can offer, to give those that are genuinely interested an idea where their money goes. It wasn't to try and rail-road people into parting with their hard-earned.

For the record, as good as VEMS is for the money, it's not the be-all and end-all, just like all the Megasquirt variants.

The £1000 that I suggested to supply, fit and map this system is how much you would have to pay someone like A***y Motorsport to even plug their laptop into an already fitted system, let alone fully supply, fit and map it.

It was never supposed to be a vendetta against any other tuner, but look who turned it to shit. A predominance of Jamsport followers. Fact is, Jamie and I get on, well face-to-face anyway.

Mr Ultima.... Nice as the car is (lovely in fact), a mechanics job is a little different from a proper tuner. You've said the engine has det'd it's head off. What makes you say this? Genuinely Interested?

To me, this ecu upgrade seems good value.

Ecu, loom, fitting, map and power read out from the best RR system there is.

But there isn't no need to start each map from scratch, as a good base map, then fully trimmed, will be quicker and just as good a full map from scratch, as long as done correctly.

Matt, i think you was in the wrong, and should just admit your comments were below the belt.

Christian, i believe i remember you mention'n about the boost and power on the std RST max bhp thread a few weeks ago,

At the end of the day as a customer you ask a company to work on your car, a company will talk you through what options you have with what work they are going to do to your car, they will try to achieve that within reason so if a customer goes home chuffed to bits with the companys work then the company is doing something right !!!

The greater the available choices the better for the consumer.. simple as really

Christian and Beccy I think you mis-understood my comments or perhaps I did not make myself clear as the comments were not directed at yourself, I believe as stated that greater choice is a good thing and I commend you for making people aware of another option management option available to them.
I am getting new management on my turbo and having done the research I have made my choice, yet when I express this in a discussion the reaction I recieve is a little bizzar and often similar to that displayed by religious zelots.
Im not sure why people react in the manner you or I have encountered.... yet im still lost as to why not using the same managment as these people offends them so much..
When I was looking into management systems I was shocked to find out the amount of misinformation there is regarding the virtues of each type which is dissapointing as threads like started by someone trying to present information so quickly can turn into 'my management is better than yours' once the fanboys arrive

Its a shame as it make learning about something a little harder...
Try not to let people get to you, I know its hard but I personally would rather learn something from you than watch you defend what you have no need to
