Default DO I HAVE PROBLEMS????

hey guys how you all doin ok ill start from the begining of what happend. ok this morning i got in my erts to goto work let it tick over for 45seconds or so, drove about 5mile up a slight hill and dropped down to 4th and it was like all power had gone from the car the revs dropped right down to 0rpm then it was like i was running out of fuel, had quater of a tank then the engine stalled, but started straight after.

ok then i was on my way home from work went about 6miles came up to a round about dropped down to 2nd gear gave it some gas and it lost all power then there was a almighty pop sounded like it came from the exhaust area, thought it may of been back fire but i think it was to loud for that after that it was fine all the way home

any idea's, thought may have a blockage somewhere ????

Sounds like an electrical fault to me, dizzy ata rough guess but theres not much to pin point it to that.

Dont suppose the rev counter was doing anything abnormal by any chance?

sounds like fuel relay to me! only a matter of hours before it will go completely so avoid driving anywhere until you replace this little fella otherwise you will have to be recovered!!

Could be a boost hose collapsing. Are the hoses standard?

The boost hose is a good suggestion! (no less from Christian )

I doubt very much its the fuel relay, if it is it will more than likely be hot to touch, and if they are hot you can usually smell them melting anyway

i had the same kind of problem with mine a couple of weeks back. Then all at once, sounded like a massive balloon popped. Turned out the their was a boost leak from one of the hoses. Car wouldnt start at all, filled it with fuel again, really fucked me off then i felt around the hoses and sourced it to that. Even if you cant see a hose hanging off, check them all anyway

hi guys ive found out some more info on my problem ive noticed it wont boost any more than 10psi where normally its @ 18psi could this narrow it down to a specific problem like an air leak??? if i remember right i spoke to christian he said that the standard erst boost @ 10psi i think thats what he said dont quote me on that, so how do i check for air leaks coz thats what my money is goin on??

take all air hoses off and put them back on mate securely...
best bet

then go from there... if ur car run 18 psi once then it still should...

if wen u come on boost it gets to say 11psi then shuts down with a bang and feels like u hit a wall it could b chip related...

A standard car boosts at 6-7 psi, the boost limiter is at 10-11 psi.

As said if the car is back firing when its nearing the boost limit it could well be an ECU fault.

You will notice it more in the higher gears as the turbo boosts harder. (if this is the fault)
