Default winter!!

ok then how many of us are putting there escorts away for the winter?

mines going into the garage when the tax runs out at the end of the month!

during this time tho im taking my time to do a rebuild on the engine! ive only had this one about 3 months and she does run fine but the tappets need doing and i want more power ok your thinking just add a some bits and get her set up and ill have more power but the old girls now showing 180000 miles and never had a rebuild or a turbo for that matter so thats why!

my machanic says if your going to spend money on it then you may as well start from scratch! and i can see his point so now ive got the hasel of looking for all the parts i now need

but by the time springs her she should be freshley rebuilt hopefuly around the 200bhp mark and then ill be happy

Mine will be off the road until spring.

Gonna remove the front Koni's from my donor car and put them in the mercury grey one some time in winter. Will also fit a stronger actuator (thanks IANS2RST) and if I find a rollcage somewhere I'll fit that one too.

Luckily I've got a good garage. Not even the brake discs corrode.

Mine's staying on the road for those days when we have a bit of good weather. Always had my cars taxed all year. I like taking it out on christmas morning if the weather's ok.

No way it's coming off the road. It drives so nicely on icy roads with some studs.
Suspension and engine settings are already on winter-mode

Is there a lot of salt on the roads in Finland? Or is there a closed snow surface?

Our streets are soaking wet most of the time in winter, the salt is getting in every edge and cars rot away like nothing here, especially older ones.

It's both form week to week. Way too much salt is used here too. I would understand it if we were a country where winter tires wouldn't be obligatory, now I just don't.

Mine is away already - doing this has it's pros and cons i think: the car didn't like being stood and i was fed up without it
but it is a good time to ensure jobs get the time to get done - as when mine was still in use, i just wanted to be out in it

Mine had done similar miles before it's new engine You could see down past the pistons when the head came off
I loved getting all the bits ready for mine, was good to see it come together

Good luck with it
