lincolnrs depends what the engine is specc'd for? Paul J's fiesta runs WELL over 400hp and does 0-60 in 5's or so (i saw it do a 4.6IIRC at Ford Fair) and carries on till 179mph if not higher!

im more into motorway racing and midrange and top end stuff as thats where most of my races lay...so the engine is specc'd accordingly for the mid range and top end stuff...

bit like rods engine produces...say 900hp...he cant get the times lower on acceleration to 60 for example but powers through the rest of the rev range when he has grip

My S1 has a Std 70k gearbox Std engine and also does not use ALS off the spot.

The XR3 has better time than the S1

Cheers matey, but with a decent driver (ie not me ) I'm sure its capable of well within 12 secs to 100 and easily 13.5 1/4! All at a fairly low 23 psi

Hmmmm I miss the power

Mine is the SiTech Racing one in Perf Ford this month.

I just have a few mods to do early next week and then will get it rolling roaded, as I also would like to know what the exact power figure.

Well, I reckon we will do an RST Rolling Road Day using our Dyno Dynamics Dyno soon, if there is a demand.

Why don't we try and get some of the bigger cars there on that day and see who can walk-the-walk?

I know its more about what times the cars do, but Dyno figures can be compared on the day too.

yeah i reckon there was easily a 12.5 in there to! u rolled off the line then went for it so i reckon there was plenty of time there for you to lose!

LOVE your car though mate...but u already know that LOL

any chance of a spin with the new or even old engine LOL

I am hopeing that I will get closer to the 400 mark.

Sorted a clutch that will help harness the power as that was the reason that I could not run more boost!

So now can run more than 2bar of boost.

Wind the boost up and map the 55lbs injectors.

Thinking of trying Surrey Rolling Roads unit? any ideas?

Surrey uses a Dyno Dynamics unit like ours. That will be the one to use IMO. They should run the car a certain way to make the figures so that they can be compared. Hopefully they will stick to the rules!!

Will be good to see what it makes.

Jano's S1 with a standard head, bottom end and capacity did a 5.80 second 0-60 and a 1/4 mile of 14.54 @ 102.37 mph with a full interior which compared well to Ollie Meredith's S1 which has a 1.9 CVH which is stated at being 320 BHP and this car was slower 0-60 than a car with a standard head and block with a time of 6.32 seconds and slightly faster 1/4 mile of 13.98 @ 114.98 although this car has the weight advantage of being a stripped out racer

Im personally more interested in performance stats rather than numbers.
Ollie's car is metnal. The 60 times are all about the launch, and how ur willing to do it. It is over 12mph faster at the 1/4 than Jano's was - that is a massive massive difference. Ollie's has done 5's to 60 on other occasions.

Im fully aware that Ollies car is very impressive and a great race car however as we all know 1/4 mile times are not about terminal speed its about how fast you can do that specific distance in time. Considering that Jano's car obviously weighed more due to having a full interior the fact that its time with a standard head, block and gearbox and was still just under a second slower while having a faster 0-60 clearly displays that power statistics are only half the picture.
Im pretty certain that Ollie's cars strength is in different area's such as on track due to the suspension set up and its not just the power this car pushes out that makes it quick.

All the cars are impressive in their own way and all I was hoping for was some statistics to compare how the power related to performance in terms of value for money.

I actually think that a fast 0-60 time can be had as a result of finding a balance between power and set-up. For example, my car was never built for 0-60 times and I would imagine that it would do as good a time at 1-bar of boost as it would at 2-bar of boost. The key with an RST is being able to reach 60 in second IMO and also getting away with minimal wheelspin.

1/4 Mile however, is over a greater distance and power does play a part by then.

If you look at the statistics from last years thrash, I wasn't competitive on anything really other than top speed. It is what I set out to do. However, my timed 0-1 Mile was well up there and the 0-100mph wasn't too bad either. Once you have grip (and thats the hard bit), power is the only thing that will improve your time IMO.

Mine made 361 bhp & 404 lb ft torque on the dyno at Field Motorsport

If the rolling road day is on the 3rd december then I can't make it as I will still be in Germany till the 5th.

Maybe the weekend after (Hint Hint )
