Default no boost

ive put the engine in got it running, took it for a little blip down the road and acording to the gauge its not boosting cant hear any turbo noise either, could the actuator want turning in out and are my pipes the right way round,ie it goes from nipple on comp housing to the actuator and was told that when i get it set up they can adjust boost by the lenth of the rod, can the wastgate be stuck open or sumat? the turbo has slight play but not much and also it turns freely, the vac metering pipe is blocked off, andi have no amal or bleed valve, and yes im goin to get it set up properly, just thought id get a bit of boost any ideas appreciated cheers matt

Chances are you havent connected the actuator to the wastegate.

I re-built my turbo then had the same thing when i took it for a test drive, i wasnt a happy bunny until i relaised what i had done lol

If you had no piping to the actuator the turbo would boost infinitely until the weakest part let go.

The fact there is no boost at all and no boosting noises says to me the wastegate is wide open, which is exactly what mine was doing.

Get underneath and see if the actuator rod is tight, if its loose/sloppy/not much spring pressure its probably fucked!
