Which ones should i go for?

i would go for electrical gauges on the basis that i wouldnt want oil/water lines running in to the car.

the only mechanical gauge i would go for is a boost gauge

unless u spending big money on stepper motor stuff, then mechanical, elec, elec.

electrical if possible , i had a oil pressure line come loose behind the guage and had 4 bar worth of oil all over my footwell , and since i had removed the carpets , it was a bastard to clean.

I too have had an oil pipe burst off inside the car, luckily i spotted it instantly and there was little mess.

Electric all the way now!

so where do the electric gauges get there reading from then?

Same place, not as accurate or responsive as a mechanical one though i would imagine.

if using mechanical you run a pipe ie, boost off of vacum hose, so how do the electric gauges get there reading? or am I being thick and the reading is taken as above just displayed in digital

Ah, i was talking about oil pressure. Mechanical boost gauges are all good

readings are taken from a sender unit which screws into the source
