18's on an s1

is it easily done just i want big wheels on but it rubs on the arches with the standard wheels on. id settle for 17's but would really like 18's on it ?

i dont want lots of work and problems so i might just go for avez a's in 16's then because i still want handling and acceleration. cheers for your feed back

Its quite surprising what will fit wheel size, the main limiting factor is your suspension setup.
I have had various sizes of wheel fitted on different suspension set ups!
17"s are fine on 20-25mm drop
anything more and you are into problems 4up or during harsh cornering!
16"s are great and possibly the best all round, not harsh over pot holes, great for handeling etc etc!
TILLIO what rubber are you using on your 18s M8? Your car looks the bomb BTW!
Cliff what :coilovers have you gone for? Definatly the way to go for track IMO!

hi mate i had 18"s on my s2 i had to take them off because it put pressure on the gear box so with big wheels or big bhp or big gearbox
i had to cut the arches and get koni adjustables

I personally do like big whels but i have 17's on my s2 but they make it really skippy and u will follow and feel every bump in the road. Had the same on my 3i aswell, Spose its just a comprimise between handleing, comfort and looks.
