I am just about to fit my new 0.48 exhaust housing as my other 0.48 housing had cracked around the wategate. How laggy is it over standard when they're not carcked? I'll be running about 18psi on standard cam.

ive got it on a t34

is laggy at first but once you know when its coming you just accelerate earlier.

im not the best person to ask depends what ur after from ur car i guess

no where near the snappyness of the .36 but a better housing for reliability and heat issues.

got one fitted to mine with similar spec to yours and fairly happy although may change to a .36 in the future...lol

Do you need to rev the balls off your cars to get the most from the turbo?

never take mine over 6k, comes in at 3500 and pulls well.

I'll swap it over in the morning then and see how it goes. Seems to be a common fault with the housing cracking. I've got 3 housings sat at home and all have cracks around the wastegate. At least I got some to practice welding on.

got mine today, just wondereing if there are any issues with the bonnet catch as I still one run one, all the grs ones I've seen have a dent in the top?

na dont need to rev it at all, its just a more harder hit in my opinion

the bigger boys on here are probably better to ask

Thats the thing I havn't got at the minute. The car does pull but not like it should so I will replace this and take it from there.

i bought my turbo off a member on here, fair play its been sound as a pound so far.

its a T34, 360 bearing with .48 housing off a saff cosworth

yes, the hit is hard

and from what the tuner told me hes only set it at 9/10 psi

Just changed my .36 housing for a ,48 and have to say I've noticed no difference at all.


Probably because my car is at the workshop and I've not even seen it for a week

The only time I take my car anywhere is to get the fuelling setup.

One of my boost hoses blew off on the way to work this morning after changing the housing over to the 0.48 one. Found it was down to a faulty jubliee clip. Crapped myself when I heard a rush of air and the engine dying thought I'd blown the turbo.

put a .48 on mine, an the car totally changed, whereas i used to race a couple of bikes home from work down the back roads, and give them a good thrashing (cbr 400 and dtv250 2 stroke) but once that .48 went on it became an A road car so started taking thje a12 home and goin off the clock instead and the bikes done me on pull away out of the bends..

where do u get a .48 exhaust housing from??? and is it just a simple stright fit?

i think if im right it allowa exhaust gases to flow better thus reducin the chance of turbo stall on higher boost at higher revs...

so in affect will be bit laggier but rev better...

i have a 48 on mine and i love it!

Not anymore mate. I have a group of guys at SCC Performance that I trust 110% and I just don't have the time anymore to DIY stuff as much as I would like. Work and other comitments would mean the cars being off the road for too long waiting for me to get round to doing stuff
