Default Another EFI conversion thread..........

I've just done a search and couldn't find anything I was looking for, but please bare with me.

I want to do an EFi conversion for loads of reasons but mainly as I think the MFi is horrible, so whats the easiest way to do it???

I'm not keen on the idea of having to go out and search for all the different bits so does anyone know of a company/person that can do the conversion or can supply all the parts?

Also whats the best management to go for? FRST,Cossie, etc?

Cheers

Ben

why do you think it's horrible? it may be a bit old but if it's set up well, it works well enough!

It's just very primative, and limits the tuning "ease"

plus I like the sound of cossie management

Just to add to the question of efi....i read a thread the other day about aftermarket ECUs (gotech omex etc) and someone said you need your car converted to EFI before you can fit these aftermarket ECUs.

Mines still mfi and i was hoping just to give omex or jamsport the cash and have it back like a flying machine.......this right or not?

it's not the problem of doing the conversion, I'm quite handy with a set of spanners, but it's just trying to get all the parts to do it that worries me.

Its not that hard at all, the 2 hardest parts are getting a crank position signal and the incompatibility of the EFI manifold fitting to the MFI head, both very easily overcome with a few options of how to do both

You need a crank position signal, so either fit an EFI flywheel and drill the block to take the sensor, or fit a trigger wheel to the bottom pulley and fit the sensor there.

And the EFI manifold wont fit an MFI head, so you need to either get a conversion plate or swap over to an EFI head.

Simple enough for ya

Its hard to tell how people mean things when its in writing, no emphasis or tone on whats being said.

So don't take offence because there is none meant

Big boy? Me?

Na safechav its ok
i really dont take offence honest.
I just think seeing as you KNOW i have little knowledge of cars, making an arrogant comment as you did above

"Simple enough for ya"

really does make u appear to be a bit of a tosser in my mind

Never mind tho, you forgot the smiley face, so i guess its my fault

simple enough for ya?

(lol couldnt resist it)
