Default help with my brakes plz

wen i reshelled my rst, i decided to fook the abs off. so i got a master cylinder from a non abs escort, and the brake lines along with the brake distribution thing that goes on the drivers side of the engine bay, sorry i cant remem the proper name for it. anyway, im planning to have 4x4 callipers and 2wd discs all round. some1 today told me tho that my brake pedal will just hit the floor wen its done. just wondered if anyone else has this set up and if they encountered this problem. i wana make sure b4 i go and finish the braking system then find first time i try them i dont get a good system

any help will be mucho appreciated

Ive got a full 2wd set up and a 23mm cylinder and the pedal doesn't hit the floor, but they're shit!

I'd say the old brakes were better than currently.

a 25mm is really needed IMO.

25mm's are only on Series 2's.

Give it a try, some people on here claim to have 4 pots and rear discs on a 22mm and apparently the pedal is spot on.

As usual its never me that has any luck but you have nothing to lose by trying

Look into it now to save you wasting your time

Mk5 Escorts 92-94 reg had 25mm cylinders (early ones had 23mm so be careful)

Most of the mondeo range in scrapyards will have them too

Have you seen the size of a Mondeo servo

You would never get one of those bad boys to fit

Ive never seen any MK6 escorts with 25mm cylinders yet. I wish i could find some!!!

No neither of the above master cylinders will fit in a standard servo.

Believe me i've tried fitting a MK5 Escort item and it will never fit in a standard servo short of cutting it and allsorts, and even then the rod inside the standard servo is far too long for the job anyway.

It would be easier to find a different servo and fabricate a bracket up IMO
