Default ZVH Pistons

I need to get my 2 litre bottom end rebored and new pistons to suite as its decided to let oil up piston one.

Wheres the best/cheapest place to get pistons from and how much is a rebore to 2.1?

Thanks in Advance

Under the impression these were the calibra turbo pistons? quite commonly used in zvh's IIRC

No, you use the n/a astra (XE) pistons in zvh's and the calibra turbo pistons in zetec turbos.. the cvh head has a much larger combustion chamber so requires a piston with a smaller dish to maintain a reasonable compression ratio..

I'd use accralite's if only for piece of mind. Ur not going to ever break one unless its setup wrong.

I use custom forged items at 7:1 c/r. They take a lot of abuse! If you go custom you will get the best, not an average item. Obviously this depends on your goals.

they're mahle's aren't they?

The cossie mahle's are good for 500hp, the cvh ones tend to break their ring lands with much less power. I'd buy a nice set of forged accralite's, not that dear in the scheme of things.

They are noisey on startup, because they are forged and expand differently to cast. I have Cosworth racing ones, and they are a little noisey on startup.

Whatever the diameter of the pistons are plus the tolerance given by Mahle (or AE).. You do need to machine the pistons though in a few places.. and modify the rods (unless you get the rods specially made for the pistons)..
