i had a probelm befor like this, i found that the connections had corroded, causing the the lights to malfunction. If you have replaced the clusters then this may not be the problem tho it may be worth checking.
alternativly if the foam seal around the lights fails you can get water ingres aging causing problems or the final thing may be a poor earth or dodgy wiring.....
does this happen on both sides of the car or just one and what lights are affected is it just the brakes and indicators or is it them all???

its all of em mate, fogs reverse, indicators, brakes, from what the passenger side seems to work fine when the drivers side isn't connected but when it is they all go, but with a bit of fiddlin and playin about with i can get them to work, as soon as i shut the boot or somat they all go haywire again.
foam seal shouldn't be the problem cause its been garaged for several months.
think its a bad earth just can't figure it out

yeah the wires have been cut to the cluster before i owned it, prob an attempt to solve the prob, so not sure whether the brown is the earth, my wiring is completly different to me mates turbo, the colours aren't the same.
ooked all the connections over and cant seem to find a prob,
ill try some electrical contact grease and see if that solves it

Everywhere that there is a contact give it a clean, its usually the wiring plug to be honest, they corrode and go dry. You want something very mildly abbrasive to just clean up the contacts a bit, getting there though

the connectors are a pain, I knocked them on the head and cleaned up a good set of clusters then soldered the connections on, so no plug. I also put vaselene in each lamp holder (ask the missus to go to chemist)
Not had any problems since
