The KE Jetronic is quite capable of giving you 230bhp.
Speak to a few tuners and tell them what you want and they should be able to come up with the goods. If you don't already have a tuner you know and trust speak to several.
Once you have the power you will also need a gearbox and clutch that can take it as well as suspension and brakes.

screw the zetec/zvh. they a lot of hassle.
If ur bottom end is sound then u defo need:
good intercooler - thats a cert.
U then have different ways to get 230hp. The cheapest would be a stage 3 turbo, and a cam like a cvh 35, chip (always needed). A good engine may just see 230hp with this spec, but bank on 220.
If u can afford, a decent head is the way forward. A big valve head together with a stage 2 turbo will give u upto 240hp. This is an awesome conversion, as the car will pull hard from 2500rpm upto the limiter - few cars will be able to match the outright all round pace. U could fit a stage 3 turbo with the head, and have 250 plus but..... u are then running into reliability problems, as ur on the limit with the std bottom end.
Bare in mind that u will need a brand new radiator (std is fine) as urs is probably way past it. U will also need a breather/oil seperator which keeps crank case pressure down. All hoses should be replaced with silicone items for reliability (use roose motorsport).
Make sure that the suspension and brakes are all upto it!

BRAKES! 1st!! Standerd BRAKES are pants! no point having ALL go and no S.T.O.P lol Followed by Suspention and Bushes.
Then you have the right car to start the power mods, dont want to end up in a tree! haha
Exhaust, Filter, Chip, Stage 2 Turbo, Frount mount intercooler, Stage 3 Head, CAM, Samcos and if you can strech forged pistons and better management. I know money does't grow on tree's but this is going to see thoses power levels pritty safley. Followed by a good setup and rolling road run!!!
Hope this helps
