DUMPVALVE PROBLEMS????
Just fitted a dumpvalve 2 my s2erst ive got a samco hose with the dumpvalve takeoff and not the alloy tpiece lumbed it all in with a bailey piston dumpvalve splicedinto the vacumm hose on the right hand side and it wont idle at all it starts then cuts out, now i was lea to believe the idle would be crap, bu it doesnt idle whatsoever
, now most of u will say take it off bt thats not the answer im after, any ideas whats causing this is it a faulty dumpvalveor something else.ideas please
.p.s ive taken it of for now and plugged the hole and its fine........but i want to put one back on

As Safechav says, its got to be a Bailey twin piston dump valve to work properly! and there is NO reason why you should have bad idle with it fitted! it makes NO difference to mine on idle when its on as to when its off!!

sounds to me like you've got some sort of air leak, this happened to me and it was a air leak. it's something to do with the flap underneith the airfilter. air is been sucked in and it's not passin through the flap
the dumpvalve ive got is a baileys piston type not sure if its a twin piston one r not, ive just got of the phone to woodford garage and they sell a dv26 for £69.95 so ill wack this on ebay and get oneof those.........which vacumm hose is best for the dumpvalve??..............i only paid £40 for the valve and the samco which is a bargain in my eyes
, so im not bitter..lol

Have a look down the end of the dump valve and if its twin piston u will see a thin metal piston inside a larger black plastic piston.
Any piping is ok, but we all know silicon vacuum hose looks the nuts
The norm is about £10 for 3 metres, and small cable ties are the best way of securing the pipe onto conncetions (and if u really want to be a tart u can buy some matching coloured ones
