BRAKING...
My s2 rst seems to have shite brakes!ive fitted cosworth 4x4 calipers and have removed the ABS.the brake pads are standard but the discs are drilled, but the brakes just dont seem to "grab". i cant really remember if they were like this before i fitted the calipers or not.
Advice please...

typical escort matey, its not the discs and pads that make it feel better.
try looking at replacing the servo and master cylinder for either new items or upgrade them to something a bit better.

Have you done discs all round??? The master cylinders on escorts/orions are pants, and also the springs inside the master cylinder are so stiff which all contributes to how hard the pedal is (and we all know they are really stiff)
Ive converted my cabriolet to a 2wd set up but the master cylinder isn't really up to the job. Another thing worth checking, look on the side of your master cylinder and it will have a large number on it, it should be 25 but you may also find 22 or 23.

yes i bled the brakes properly, a few times actualy to try and sort the problem,the master cylinder was next.how dya sort it?replace it or change it for a better one?
