Default What's the best direct fit intercooler for my s1?

I'm wanting a new intercooler for my car but was wondering what intercoolers everyone has on there cars and what would be best as a direct swap. I want an uprated one but don't want to start cutting anything or taking stuff out. I'm wanting to keep my standard pipes cause I just bought samcos.

Thanks mate. You got any idea how much the fan would be? It just says PAO.

It might be a bit too big for what I was looking for though cause I'm not running much higher bhp than standard, I'm gonna be happy with about 150-160 from my re-built engine. I forgot to mention what sort of engine it was for.

i think the fan is about £100 dont matter how much bhp you got the colder the beter and if you wont to up the bhp you wont need a new one

My intercooler looks in quite bad shape so I just wanted to get a new one, quite like the look of the uprated standard size one though

If it works for 300bhp then it will be fine for my 150 bhp car.

Now all I need it to decide what cam kit to go for. I understand piper do a 285t2 but what is the name of the other one/s? I've seen a one listed as the 285 and one as the 285t. Is this the same thing or are there 3 to choose from?

the 285 is for carb or inj the 285t is for rst running apx 14psi and the 285t2 is for high boost ie over 14psi

I take it my car isn't gonna be very good for drving slowly with a 285t2. What would be the equivalent kit that kent do? Would this be a CVH34 or CVH35?

I've had a piper 285t on my S1 it went knackered due to age so i was advised to go for 285t2. I,ve got ajustable boost but when i drive at 10-11 psi it's fine with the 285t2 cam then i turn it up and it's better it doesn't seem to affect my normal drivin but it does seem to be higher up the rev range when it kicks in about 4000 rpm but if ya just gona be sticking with the 150 mark i'd definaltly go for the 285t

Is this grs uprated one going to be as good as the pace uprated one?
if your talking about the double capacity pace one then the GRS is far superior! the pace full front is on a par with the GRS.but personally i'd have a GRS everytime!

and i wouldnt use a piper cam as a paper weight!

for 150 bhp i'd forget a cam and IC, they wont be bad moves but pointless really.

10-12psi - mongoose/magnex and maybe a -31 should see you at 150bhp np!

Your car on your avatar has over 200bhp so do you mean you wouldn't use the piper cam on your car or on any car?

I've got an exhaust system (about 2.5-3" bore with 3.5" outward rolled tip), new pipercrss filter and -31 actuator but the engine is coming apart anyway to treat it to a re-build so I was thinking about getting a cam kit rather than buy standard parts.

I'm not bothered about big power so I will be more than happy with anything over 150bhp.
