Puttin 17's on should lift it up another inch or so it must be really low to catch the clamp on breaking how low is it?

what dampers are on the car? if its standard with lowering springs then usually they are to soft to deal with the lower than standard springs, and if it is seriously low then maybe have a look to see if the springs have been cut to drop car further. bad if they have been as the struts will bottom out and the pounding will do damage to the suspension turrets.
springs are progressively wound so cutting them will make it handle like poo
17's will raise the car slightly but you will probably find the tyres will get scored from the arches.

hi guys just to mension about the cutting of springs wen i was in me younger days (yawn i no)getting the grinder out on a boring old sunday cutting the springs was the bollocks lol turned my grinding wheel anyway i had no problems with the handeling, out corner loads of cars apart from the loonys just give them a nod wen they crash cool.

just another thing i thought (this hurts) dont u have to roll the arches wen u lower and put 17" rims on?
