Default S2 Boost

Ok, had my H reg s2 for about 2 months now, completely stock engine wise.

Decided to put a boost gauge on today to make sure the car was boosting ok. Looking at the gauge, im only getting 5psi boost. Obviously this aint right cause it should be 7-8psi.

It peaks at 6-7psi and then settles at 4-5.....

Ok before i go on.... the boost IS being controlled by a bleed valve as sometime in its life the amal valve has been bypassed.... i imagine because it was faulty.

Ok as im new to the CVH engine, should i control the boost through the bleed valve? just wind it out a bit to reach the desired 8psi? Or does the boost peaking and then droping a few psi indicate a weak actuator?

Thanks for the help.

Ross.

If your going to keep it at std boost levels and like the boost to come smoothly, get an amal valve and pipe it up standard! If your not bothered then i'd guess at the actuator either A: being weak, as it peaks at 7psi, or B: it's been set up to peak at 7psi and it tails off a few psi (which doesnt neceserilly mean its broke) i'd set it up to peak about 9/10 and it should tail off to bout 7/8psi, would reccomend getting it set up by a pro though just incase it's not fueling properly.

ok today i tried winding the bleed valve out a bit, but the boost still stays the same, so must point to the actuator.....

the actuators are adjustable on these right??? via a 10mm nut? Sorry i havnt actually looked closely enough at actuator yet.

Would the next step be to try adjusting the nut on the actuator yeah? maybe its been set to low at some point????

Thanks guys.
