i agree wit you lads, the series 2 is nearly there, the series 1 is for sure. however the series 2 is available on some classic insurers nowadays i believe

its all relative though, the MK1 boys will never accpet a FWD escort as old school.
i think of the S2 as old school simply because they are old and rattly
plus you can insure them as classic cars now
they will also never get tax exemption as thats for cars before 1972
