Quick rack for an s2
I fancy one of these just wondering who has them fitted and if they rate them? and where did you get them from?
I see burton has them but they look like a kit that you fit to the std rack? is that right?
Cheers

Linsay, you saying your steering is heavy??
Mine got like that recently. Now, with some decent tyres, correctly inflated and the Wheel alignment within spec, it feels masses better.
As far as I remember, Andy's Quaife kit was heavy at first, I think it eased up after a while though. Not sure what his thoughts are on it now he has had it a while.

Andy and I discussed this at great length yesterday for about 10 seconds...
As far as I know you cannot buy the Quaife one anymore, Quaife haven't made them for years. Andy has that 2.2 version (Ithink) and his steering is awful! I hate it.
I think it would be impossible for Andy to turn the wheels with adjustable TCA's without rigging up some kind of complex pulley system that hangs down from the headlining.

It does make the steering very heavy under 30mph and then just heavy over 30 mph. I find my steering is heavier with my 15" wheels on compaired to my 17's.
TBH if the car is used everyday then NO dont fit a quick rack. IF the car is just a low use weekend toy or track toy then depends on how strong your arms are but yeah i like my quick rack.
The optimum ratio is 2.8 turns lock to lock not the silly 2.2 turns lock to lock i have

Unfortunatly all dates upto 2009 are taken now, but to be honest I'd still think you'd be in with a chance of winning

No Christian, saying the opposite - it's normal to me, i wouldn;'t mind if it were a bit heavier
I think the tyres i have on do effect it tho
Tony, we shall have an arm wrestle
Am sure it's in the Burtons 2006 catalogue i recently picked up at Autosport
2.78 turns??
looking on the website i can't find it
