Ive been polishing the engine bay today, and noticed some sort of number or code stamped onto the part where the inlet bolts onto.

The number is: C59YC 'RACE' 0.30

Anyone have an idea what this might mean as I dont have a clue?????

C59YC are champion spark plugs, i would guess the 0.30 would be 30 thousandths of an inch (plug gap?)

 

must have put it there so not to forget.

 

Ahhhh right, thanks for that. its not actually stamped in to the metal, but on on one of those plastic sticker things.

So are these plugs any good then? and does that gap setting sound right?

On my small turbo my gap is 0.6

 

champion plugs are poo, but cheap, they make teh car tick over like a bag of spanners - dotn bother with them.

 

It ticks over and runs perfect, so maybe there not champions that are in anymore???

 

Whats the best plugs to run on a small turbo escort then?
