hi im intrested if anyone can give me any info on whats the best remody for the 4wd cossie gearbox "without costing the earth" as fitted to my escort?the cars running sumwhere around 400bhp on a low comp engine large cooler and rad t34 greys etc.does fitting a heavy paddle cluch kind of cure it or whats the best uprated gearkits to chose etc?any info much appreatiated.

it all depends on the reliability of the box.what method is that a new uprated box?what you done to your box?

But second hand quaife items do come up from time to time, expect to pay 1500-2k for those then a shot peen and polish/rebuild etc, another 700 ish, though that still wont be bullet proof for 400 plus

Get a skyline conversion from reyland, that should be bullet proof, but circa 8-10k IIRC, though I'm not sure if available on the common market yet??

iv also herd the supra box fits in to and is capable of 1000bhp!!!!!dose anyone know where and how much they sell for???????

sweedish FIX-IT gearkits have a very good reputation here in norway. Think Rainbird have them in stock.

and how much are the fixit kits?so will fitting a 4 paddle or 6 paddle ap clutch and dont thrash it off the line prolong the life of the box?

my box could be up for sale soon it has straight cut 2nd and 3rd and is a pete dolty box ( spelling ? ) as fitted in my 400 +bhp escort, the box is in a1 condition. whould want £1500 for it.
