Well, she is normally very good, but a month ago it needed a new fuse box, now the head gasket has gone.....but in 18 prior to that it was great.
I'd like to have a picture of her as a sig, but no idea how to do it..

Probably depends on the state of tune the cossie is mate, I had a 230bhp s2 escort and sold it to buy a 4x4 saph satge 1 and round town the saph was definitely more juicy.Possibly due to the 4x4.

Re: MPG
Hi all yeah the cossie has a GGR stage2 upgrade on a small turbo! I know out of my existing RST I get around 60 miles out of £10 on super unleaded around town! I was wondering how much would a E-cossie with the above spec do to a tener...

Hi All
Back up for my question please...are any of u guys not getting fuel surge issues with under half a tank....If I accelerate with anywhere near under half a tank the car stutters due to fuel starvation....I literally have to fill it up every 100 miles!!!!
Have a great Xmas...

I get fuel surge usuees under hard cornering under 1/4 of a tank. Maybe when doing hairpins sideways on dry tarmac a little bit earlier. I got some unkonown Bosh pump fitted of a some big V12 Merc or BMW.

Hi All.
mmmmmm maybe my probs could be linked to the unexplainable fuel smell i have around the rear of the car, There are no visable signs of a leak anywhere , its got me stumped at the moment.....any thoughts would be greatly appreciated..I have looked at the cap seal as someone suggested but it all looks ok...

i know its not a cossie but my escort mk5 estate was stinking of petrol, wid no visual signs etc, eventually i found a very very minute hole in the fuel line where the clutch cable had dislodged and had been touching the plastic fuel line so was only spraying out under great pressure. put anew fuel line on and it was spot on. worth a look as i think the set up may be similar on the escos

Hi Sean...
How r u, hope the cars still going well after the setup...
That is a very good point, I have not rolled around under the car when its running I'll do that.... although it does seem to smell most of the time. Maybe i'll have to get Mark (mad) to go over it, will take me forever to find it and then I won't have the correct tools
Have a great New Year mate....

You really shouldnt be getting fuel surging issues at just under half a tank of fuel, admittedly it does happen if your below a qtr a tank and launch a bit sharpish or corner hard, can almost feel like the car has died and can be a bit dangerous at times.
are you still using a standard in tank pump?
the problem with the intank pumps is that they hang from the top of the tank and dont reach completely to the bottom, and its not really a decent system in there to stop fuel sloshing about under cornering!
Also, the rubber seal around the top of the tank that hold the pump in can perish over time, only a hair line crack could give a strong petrol smell.
ive got an uprated fuel pump in the tank that primes a swirl pot in a cell in the boot, and from that a 044 pump feeds the fuel rail, therefor doing away with fuel starvation and surging issues, can even be way into the red and cornering hard on track and its fine.

Hi Kelcos
I was thinking along the lines of the tank seal myself....The car had a GGR 335 conversion before I got it so the pump had been upgraded already (but only in standard configeration) I bet taking the tank out to check the seal is not an easy job!!!!
Is it a case of undoing the filler jubliee clip and the 2 straps that hold the tank up ????
Cheers Malc
