Default fuel pump

My old man has a 500 bhp escort coz, it has 2 x fuel pumps, on saturday when he went to start it it wouldn't start, the AA came out and said it was the fuel pump that was fukt, the car had just been serviced and mapped by A1 rally that day so he phoned them up, thay said to check the fuses, so he did, the fuse to the pump was ok but had a bit of dirt on it, he wiped it off then stuck it back in, the car started fine after that, the fuel pump seems to be very loud, is this normal for a high powered coz, or could the fuel pump be fukt, he only bought the car on saturday and this is why we are asking, any help would be great

The only way you will tell is to take it to an expert and get them to listen to it! - or do a flow test etc... Without actually hearing it I don't think anybody will be able to tell if it is fooked or not.

yes mate they are there and there is a swirl pot, so the noise will be normal then, would a dodgy fused cause probs? my old man said when he first starts the car theres not much noise then after about 10 mins it gets really noisy, is that what happens with your mates car?
