I know this should probably be in the projects, but as it was a few months ago now, i thought i would put it here instead.

Well, after travelling ooop north for a nice looking Cossie i had seen, i ended up breaking down due to this



Still, never mind, i wasnt to be put off and the stripping commenced, my mate with his cleaning skills at work



Now the engine was out, it was time to look at the offending engine and as we tried to take off the crank pulley, it came clean off....





I had stuff everywhere, you couldnt move for Cossie bits, exhaust in the garden, interboiler and radiator in the shed bumper in my room and random boxes everywhere



So, the engine was sent off to Mr Gibbs for inspection and it wasnt good news, anyhoo i told him what i wanted and he set about it, the car sat in the garage for a while feeling sorry for itself




Harvey was on the phone a few weeks later to say all was ready, so off i toddled to pick up my engine, got the car out ready for the install...



I came back with this all 431 bhp lump fresh and ready to pop in along with practically new everything else



After deliberating over headlights and wheels, i chose the popular option of Morettes and Rondells, and thought it looked the mutts nutts

what caused the camshaft to snap? ive known this happen on a few now

I was told that the caps probably weren't done up tight enough, funnily enough, i've snapped two cams studs now, but just 1 cam

o yes i can belive that have you uprated the box / diffs yet

 

I have had the box rebuilt recently, other than that, its standard transmission for me, im just waiting for the diff to go pop now

What next for you now though - coilovers?? - Is the gearbox OK with that power?

Gearbox seems to be holding up very well at the moment, but i know it wont last, but the fact that i drive it once a week tops and dont drive it too hard through the gears helps, once it does go, i might get an uprated one but they are soooo expensive
