Uh oh. Just changed the oil in the escort... out of habit, my audi's take 5 quarts.. so without even thinking thats what I did in the escort... 5 quarts (4.7 liters) with oil filter.

Then I realized, its only 3.6 liters with filter change.. Should I take some out?

I would mate to be on the safe side.
I normally fill my engine so the oil level sits between Min and Max.

Fair enough, youre right... it takes 2 minutes to take it out but a lot more time and money in a rebuild. Good advice.. thanks m8.

Drain the excess oil out, too much can overload the crank seals or if you are really unlucky the crank hits the oil when cornering - not good.

mine takes 4.2 litres with oil filter nether the less pays 2 put it on the max mark
