HELP!!! - Rear Diff Noise???
Got a Big TB Esc Cos with the usual Rondells on. After puncture, changed the rear tyres to 235/40 18, leaving 225/40 18 on the front. This instantly caused a grinding noise coming from the rear of the car when coming of the throttle and using engine braking etc (Especially in 3rd gear!). Friend suggested it was probably being caused by tyre scrub due to the different sizes of tyre front and rear.
Now changed the rear back to original size 225/40 18 and the noise now occurs in 4th gear!
My question is what could I have damaged by putting the bigger tyres on the rear??? (Diff, gearbox???)
Any help would be great!
Cheers
Dave
Also, if anyone knows anyone who would want to buy 2 mint (Driven for about 200-300 miles) Michelin Pilot Sport 235/40 18 let me know. Price negotiable.
