Default Saph re-shell

Hi guys,

Quick question, is it possible to reshell a saph cossie on to an escort shell?

Would everything from the saph bolt on to the escos?

Cheers,

Bill

Thanks for the info Paul, sounds like the hardest bit is sourcing a escort shell!

Yes mate I was looking for years until I found mine I was after a white one in good condition that didn't need body work it cost me Ł6200 for a complete shell with everything but a rear whale tail , also had a full leather interior basically everything but the running gear which I already had , it took me 1 day to drop everything out of my saph and put it onto the escort . Try mark at MT Motorsport that's where I got mine he always has a few

Sounds good mate. I just bought my first house and it needs gutting a redoing, so the 2wd escort is gonna be my next project hopefully next year.

Another quick one guys, I obviously forgot to mention I was talking about a 2wd saph. Would the 2wd front suspension etc bolt up to the escort (i know spring rates wouldn't be correct) or would I have to mix and match 4x4 and 2wd parts?

you will need 4x4 shocks as the hubs are different from 2wd to 4wd

Yeh but you would also have to use the 2wd cossie discs calipers and pads.

iv got a pair of cut down shafts there just a spline with the abs pick up ring so you can use 4x4 front hubs

you can have them if you want

If your going 2wd then just use the full front end(hubs, brakes, rack, crossmember etc)
From a 2wd and it'll all just fit straight on,
Thats what i've just done
As said the spring rates will be differant but i'm going coilover so will be specced accordingly
You'd slso be better off puting th full rear beam off a 2wd on it as well as its stronger,
And again if you swap over the full thing then it just fits straight on,
Prop needs shortened, cant remember the exact amount off top of my head, if you need the measurement let me know and i'll check it
I was told that you can use the prop from a rx8 as its a straight fit,
But i dont know if this is true as i already had my prop shortened when i was told so didnt look into it any further
